This is a complete end to end solution to automate receipt of shipment data from various customers, route planning, trip planning and live tracking of vehicles/shipments by all stakeholders. It removes the inefficiencies of manual handling and enables the semi-skilled personnel to operate the system efficiently – check-in of vehicles into the Delivery Centre, capturing the data about number of vehicles available for the trips, loading/unloading goods in right order, optimized route plan, trip plan, generation of PODs etc. is all automated.

Problem Statement
Customer faced several operational problems
1. Lack of ability to track the vehicles/shipments in transit. Drivers took longer routes, wasted time and missed deliveries, increasing the costs for the organization.
2. PODs were sometimes misplaced and there was dispute regarding the actual number of items delivered.
3. There was no visibility to all the stakeholders about the current status of shipments
4. Unskilled personnel and lack of proper trip planning meant the goods were not loaded / unloaded in the right sequence in the vehicle which in turn increased the delivery time.
5. Manual trip planning and inefficient route planning.
6. Lack of integration with other enterprise systems like SAP and vendors’ systems

Solution
The solution comprised of multiple parts –
1. Web based platform to track shipments, create routes, create and allocate trips, live tracking of vehicles/shipments and registration of vendors, vehicles, drivers etc.
2. Android based Mobile app for the driver/delivery assistant, to enable automatic check-in into the system, help in loading/unloading and following optimum route, generation of PODs, getting access to all important information about delivery points, calling for emergency help in case of crisis and termination of trips.
3. Web-services providing integration with SAP and customers’ systems to get the shipment data and generation of invoices.
