Education

Our client is the world’s first tuition-free, non-profit, American accredited, online university. They believe that access to higher education is a key ingredient in the promotion of world peace and global economic development. Today they have more than 1,25,000 students spanning across 200 countries and territories across the world.

Problem statement
The client, faces significant challenges with their existing software systems, including performance, scalability, availability, and security issues. Additionally, they encounter process inefficiencies and high infrastructure costs. Our objective is to address these issues without disrupting their daily operations and in a cost-effective manner. Another significant problem faced by the client was the lack of documentation, which significantly hampers any efforts to rectify the system issues efficiently.

Our journey so far
To begin, we assigned a senior member of our team to closely collaborate with the client, gaining a deep understanding of their systems, processes, and organizational culture. Since then, we have made notable progress by:

  • Establishing an “Architecture Roadmap” and constituting an “Architecture Board” to address ongoing issues.
  • Implementing immediate measures to tackle high infrastructure costs, resulting in substantial cost savings.
  • Initiating an organization-wide effort to create and maintain a comprehensive knowledge repository.

Commencing Phase 1 of the modernization journey, focusing on the re-engineering of crucial portals and databases. We are proud to share that we have achieved a significant milestone in this phase by successfully developing key functionalities within a challenging timeline, exceeding their initial expectations.
