Problem Statement

A big Fortune 500 Insurance company in the US wanted to develop an “Insured Portal” for their personal and commercial line customers. The requirement was to have a facility for the users to register themselves, add their policies to the account, track the policies and premium payment calendar and also track their claims status.

The same company wanted to migrate their existing “Agents Only” portal to newer technology stack and add some features. This portal is one of the most important customer facing applications that they have and if it is down for an hour, they face losses worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The portal is used by their agents who sell commercial lines policies to various end customers. After development completion, they wanted us to help roll out the portal to new states and maintain it.

Solution

We developed the “Insured portal” using Google Polymer for front end .NET at back-end. The Agents only portal was migrated from ColdFusion to Angular JS front end and Java REST services. MS SQL Server and Oracle databases are used. The technology stack was chosen by the customer in both cases.
